TVR questions???
There are two good resources for answering questions on TVRs and TVR related issues. First, the
official TVRCC discussion board
is available for all technical queries. If you are a member and have any questions, queries, suggestions or thoughts
then here is the place to do it! Members only
Alternatively, Pistonheads.com is a
fantastic resource for all TVR related questions and discussions. The discussion archives are an invaluable source
of information related to all things TVR!!

One Saturday in Lincolnshire - a first timer’s report by Nick Kay
The meeting point was the Little Chef in Sleaford, situated on a large roundabout around which several cars were seen doing a ‘parade lap’ in order to find the correct exit to get into the Car Park.
The weather could best be described as changeable – as evidenced by the comment “It must be raining over that way – I’ve never seen that Tuscan’s roof on before….” First impressions were good – a turnout of about 30 TVRs of all shapes and ages (and one Volvo Convertible – mea culpa!).
A quick speech from JC and then ‘ladies & gentlemen, start your engines’ time – the cars formed up in groups of 6 to follow one of the two routes to the next stop. I managed to end up behind Mr Aggers’ current Cerbera – burbling and spitting at me through the pair of bean cans that appeared to be strapped to its’ exhausts! Apprehensions about being able to ‘keep up’ with only 2/3 the bhp (and twice the weight!) were soon allayed – the standard of driving was very high and people were enjoying the chosen route in a sensible fashion – keeping to the posted limits, particularly through the villages.
Next rally point was the Petwood Hotel, where it was time for tea & biccies and another chance to meet people, ask questions and look at cars, whose ranks had swelled to over 35. The cars were all lined up along one edge of the upper car park at the hotel – a photographically pleasing arc of curves.
After tea & biccies, we returned to our cars to have a “minute’s noise” in memory of Toby Hodgkinson; all engines running and revving for a minute – by my estimate, the noise of (a potential) 12,000 bhp. That wasn’t the only thunder in the air though, so it was time to put roofs on and head off to East Kirkby – in several smaller convoys flying in close formation.
At East Kirkby, the TVRs were let into the museum and formed up on the runway outside of the hangar. (Discretion being the better part of Volvo, my car stayed in the general car park!). Whilst there, some of the cars had to suffer a hail shower – to looks of consternation and cries of ‘my paintwork’ from some owners. Great British sports cars meet Great British weather! Lunch, a mooch round the museum and another look at the cars and it was time to go again; some left for the enjoyable run home through the country lanes; others headed to a nearby pub (the long way round) for dinner before heading for the hills.
A fun introduction to the CC; thanks for making me so welcome; next time I hope to be at the event in a Chimaera!

TVRCC Challenge (Snetterton) report by Peter O'Conner of TMS
The latest round of the TVR CC Challenge at Snetterton on 30th May witnessed an epic battle between the 2 Griffiths of Paul Glynn and Simon Bowse.
Paul Glynn suffered a minor engine breathing problem during practise which resulted in him starting the race of the second row. With the problem rapidly sorted by the team prior to the race the car lined up ready to do battle
Following an excellent start Paul Glynn was straight on the tail of Simon Bose and chased him hard throughout the first lap eventually passing him on lap 2. There then followed one of the most exciting TVR races seen for a long time as Simon tried everything to regain the lead. Paul somehow managed to hold him off eventually taking the chequered flag for the second time this season.
More rumours surfaced during the weekend of cars in preparation to join the series later this year. The next round of the championship is at Anglesey on 3 and 4 July.

Karting report by John Case
On Wednesday the 18th of February thirteen regional members helped to swell the numbers for an evenings karting event at Brandon, Lincs. There were actually 16 Karts racing and the organisation was very good. They asked people to be honest regarding their ability and then made groups of four from mixed abilities. Therefore no ‘cowboy’ outfits were possible. I didn’t take part but enjoyed the spectating. We had a dry and wet circuit with drivers contending with rain, sleet and snow. Boy – was it cold. Hopefully our next visit will be in warmer weather.

Rockingham report by Steve Jackson
3 East Midlands members managed to gate crash the Rockingham parade lap party at the recent Ascar event, Martin Chapell, Dawn Howie and myself. The day started at a ungodly hour which was early even though myself and Claire had spent the night in the Hotel where we were meeting, after the meeting and greeting about 25 TVR's then left for the circuit. We all parked up, centre stage in the infield, and hung about until our moment of glory. We had been told we would be driving an Ascar driver around the circiut while he waved to the crowd, but as we were waiting a group of scantily clad cheerleaders appeared and dived in the cars, then the drivers squeezed in as well! So 3 up in a TVR, well all except 1 Tuscan who had managed to squeeze 2 cheerleaders in!
We then set off around the track trying not to loose the driver, or the cheerleader out the back of the car. After doing our bit we parked back up and retired to the grandstands to watch the racing, which was very stop start due to numerious accidents all meaning the safetycar had to come out, due to the nature of oval racing.
All in all a good day was had by all, except the Ascar drivers who had bounced of the hard concrete wall! The weather was good, and so was the company.
